Done for the Director of the Italian National Museum of Musical Instruments who had given it up as lost and was thrilled with the results. No Italian has the skills for Music box restoration- all work is sent to Switzerland. A machinist had disassembled all parts but was unable to even reassemble the parts. Additional gear work, coin-op mechanism parts, gear cutters were necessary. We have since purchased the box from him.

Adler 66cm Disc Musical box
A Jewel Coffer by Alphonse Giroux, Paris
Fully disassembled, all parts were stabilized, some were re-veneered in ebony and pearwood and marquetry, the whole ebonized and french polished. Interior linings were dry-cleaned and replaced, Three paintings on linen were copied by our miniaturist in Rome, The 2mm thin broken glass lense was slumped, and beveled. Ormolu parts were cleaned to preserve every bit of the original gold plating and refitted. Original screws re-blued, a key cut and refined and the whole reassembled.
